Wind tunnel adventures!
After braving the high winds to go downtown to get groceries, Greg and I took the dogs out for a walk, which was funny enough on it’s own. When you take dogs under fifty pounds into sixty mph wind, it’s bound to be hilarious. Anyway, our neighbor and my husband Greg were standing between the two Quadplexes and were waving me over to come at our poor satellite dish. When I walked into...
I think something's wrong with me.
Every damn person I know from school is having a baby or has already had a baby if they wanted one. EXCEPT ME. I’m pretty sure that I’m infertile, considering we’ve been trying for almost a year now, and no babies. It makes my chest hurt when I see people pop up once a damn month on facebook saying that they’re pregnant. I want one, and I want it to shoot out of MY body.

Always something new
My husband, whom I have known for six years now, just found out today that I know the lyrics to 409 by the Beach Boys.
Thank you, Alex...

Drugs and alcohol in the bush
One of the biggest things I’ve had trouble with lately out here in my dry nowhereland is that everyone knows who is drinking on the weekends but no one turns them in. A few students came over to watch Despicable Me and have some root beer floats, and said that they knew their parents were drunk, but they acted like it was no big deal. Later that night, another student came over, and this...

– Republican ex-Congressman DAVID STOCKMAN, former budget director under Ronald Reagan, on the insistence of gun rights advocates on hiding behind the you-know-which-part-of-the-Constitution, on Real Time With Bill Maher.
Let me guess: Stockman is shunned for his views on guns by the rest of the...

Germany: To buy a gun in Germany, anyone under the age of 25 has to pass a psychological exam (which Loughner would probably have failed). You also have to answer a 4,000-question licensing exam.
Finland: Handgun license applicants in Finland, which has some of Europe’s slackest gun laws, are only allowed to purchase firearms if they can prove they are active members of regulated...

NOT A POPCORN OKAY
‘HOW DARE YOU NOT TURN THOSE KERNELS INTO POPCORN? I DON’T CARE IF YOU DON’T HAVE POTS OR WHATEVER TO MAKE POPCORN. I DON’T CARE IF HOT BOILING OIL SPLASH YOU IN THE FACE. YOU DESERVE IT FOR BUYING KERNELS OKAY.’
Epic win. Rabble…

Major Health Care Reforms Took Effect Today →
Starting Saturday, two of the new health care law’s most significant reforms take effect — or at least begin to take effect.
The first will dramatically clamp down on insurance industry waste, abuse, and excesses. Starting on New Year’s Day, insurance companies will have to spend at least 80 percent of the revenues they receive from premiums on actual health care. Not on salaries or overhead
